In January-August 2020, Azerbaijan exported 372,967.67 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $ 376.25 million, as reported by Interfax-Azerbaijan with data from the State Customs Committee (SCC).
Compared to January-August 2019, the export of vegetables and fruits increased by 2.2% in terms of volume and by 4% in terms of value.
Out of the total volume of exports in January-August 2020, the share of fruits and vegetables stood at 3.81%.
In January-August of this year, 154.12 million tons of tomatoes worth $ 167.39 million were shipped, which entails an increase of 15.7% in terms of volume and of 18% in terms of value compared to the same period of 2019.
During the period at hand, the following products were also exported: hazelnuts, with 9,930.85 tons (down by 29.8%) worth $ 60.66 million (down by 21.1%); apples, with 28,252.97 tons (down by 37.5%) worth $ 11.95 million (down by 35.9%); and kakis, with 17,947.06 tons (down by 24.7%) worth $ 14.13 million (down by 22%).
