Patatas Meléndez, Valladolid's leading company in the fresh potato sector, has announced the appointment of a new commercial director: Alain Betancourt.

His 20 years of professional experience have been linked to fresh products, mainly in Carrefour Spain, S.A. (1997 to 2018), where he has held such positions as Head of National Training for Fresh Products and national coordinator, head of the New Commercial Model for Fresh Products Project, and director of Fresh Product Sales Development at Carrefour Supermarkets. He is responsible, among other milestones, of the automation of fresh produce orders for the entire group, or the development of the new Carrefour Gourmet commercial model, which led to the opening of the Carrefour Market premium supermarket, located in Madrid's Conde de Peñalver Street. He has also served as a commercial director and senior consultant.
Betancourt has become the new commercial director of Patatas Meléndez with the objective of helping define an innovative commercial strategy based on the extensive knowledge he has about what the consumers demand, thereby bringing the product even closer to its customers. Thus, he will lead the commercial team, giving a boost to innovation and contributing to generate added value, both on a day-to-day basis at the management level and from a strategic point of view.
