Banana Time will be held from October 5 to the 8

The XVII edition of the International Banana Convention will be 100% online

The banana sector will discuss the challenges it faces between October 5 to the 8 at the XVII International Banana Convention organized by the Association of Ecuadorian Banana Exporters (AEBE). The event's strategic agenda aims to strengthen this industry's productive capacities to improve its competitiveness.

The attendees will have unlimited access to conferences, exchanges of experiences, commercial exhibitions, and business roundtables on different topics such as financing for sustainable development, Blockchain strategies, actions in the face of the health emergency, and plans and prospects for commercial investment, among others.

“We are reinventing ourselves as an association and we have created an event that responds to the current needs of producers, exporters, suppliers. This meeting will allow us to exchange views with global markets. Ecuador is the largest banana exporter in the world thanks to the high quality of its product. We want to strengthen a sustainable production chain to have more opportunities and to benefit the national economy,” stated Marianella Ubilla, the president of AEBE.

AEBE's work has focused on generating better competitive conditions that favor all actors in the value chain, promoting modernization to achieve certifications that support the high standards of Ecuadorian bananas.

“Our goal is to gain a greater international market. To do so, we must implement structural improvements in the farms' productive conditions, speed up procedures, and generate sources of financing, among other things. We face great challenges on a daily basis, so the sector must respond with resilience and unity. The convention will make it possible to capitalize on national and international experiences that promote the construction of a long-term sustainable vision,” said Jose Antonio Hidalgo, the director of the association.

The XVII International Banana Convention, which will bring together the main national and international players in the industry, will be known as 'Banana Time'.
