Following a two-year test phase, Migros is pooling its two regional online offers Miacar and My Migros by the end of 2020. The two pilot projects will result in the "myMigros" brand, an attractive offer under which Migros will deliver the entire Migros range of products fresh, quickly and conveniently, directly to the homes of its customers in the Bern region as well as in Thun, Solothurn and Aarau.
Two years ago, Migros launched two regional pilot projects for online ordering of food products in the area of the Migros Aare cooperative, Miacar and My Migros. Both offerings have quickly established themselves in the delivery area of the Bern region and in the cities of Thun, Solothurn and Aarau.
During the pilot phase, Miacar and My Migros gradually aligned themselves and their services became increasingly similar for customers. During the Corona crisis, the volume of orders again grew significantly. After the start-up phase, Migros is therefore bundling the two regional offers by the end of 2020, thus initiating the next growth phase under the name "myMigros". All Miacar and myMigros employees will be offered continued employment.
Freely selectable delivery windows - including same-day delivery
In the future, customers will have access to the product range of an MMM Migros supermarket online - including the popular products of the label "Aus der Region. For the region". The purchases will be put together in shops in the region and delivered to the customer's home free of charge for orders of CHF 80 or more. Orders are delivered from Monday to Saturday in a freely selectable one-hour window - on the same day if desired. In line with Migros Aare's sustainability strategy, only 100% electrically powered vehicles are used for this purpose.
Nothing will change for Miacar and My Migros customers for the time being. Nor do they have to do anything on their own initiative; their online supermarkets will continue to be available to them as usual. Before being transferred to the new, more attractive offer, customers will be informed directly via their newsletter.
