Mr Mirosław Maliszewski, from the Polish People's Party and president of the Polish Fruit Growers Association, said on Radio Plus that Poles have been massively purchasing apples during the coronavirus period.
In the interview, Mirosław Maliszewski said that the demand for apples will be greater than the supply, which means that prices may become significantly high. However, he added that, in any case, the prices of Polish apples are still the lowest in Europe.
He reported that there are currently not many apples on the market and that there are no signs of the situation improving significantly in the short term.
"Everything points to the harvest being smaller than last year. This also applies to Ukraine and Western European countries, said the president of the Polish Fruit Growers Association.
