The Vietnamese Labor News reports that Vietnamese train services are severely disrupted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This also creates complications for Vietnamese traders who use the China Railway Express to distribute their products across Central Asia and Europe. The dedicated services of the China Railway Express deliver products from Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos, among others, across Central Asia and Europe. Data shows that until the 8th of August nearly 16 thousand tons of fruit crossed the border from Southeast Asia into China. About 6,994 tons of fruit from Thailand 'boarded' the train to China.
A spokesperson of railway and trade company Ratraco explained that Vietnamese train services will temporarily interrupted to limit the spread of Covid-19. Vietnamese traders who rely on the convenience of the China Railway Express to export their fruit to Central Asia and Europe are now expanding their activities in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. They use these alternative routes to connect with the China Railway Express.
