Guardia Civil still working on identification of the other suspect

Man in Spanish town of Almuñécar arrested for theft of 700 kilos of mangoes

The Guardia Civil of Almuñécar has arrested and prosecuted a local resident for the alleged theft of 700 kilos of mangoes from a farm in this municipality of the coast of Granada on Sunday, August 23.

The arrest took place thanks to the warning of the farm's security guard, who reported that he had caught two people stealing fruit. The quick intervention of the security guard and the Guardia Civil culminated in the arrest of one of the thieves, despite the fact that he tried to flee from the scene.

The culprit was transferred to the headquarters of the Guardia Civil of Almuñécar, which then received the complaint from the owner of the farm, who estimated the volume of stolen fruit at 700 kilos and reported damage to 15 trees.

The investigation of the Guardia Civil of Almuñécar is still on-going. The objective is to identify the other perpetrator of the crime and bring him also to justice.
