After no new cases have been reported in two weeks, the COVID-19 outbreak at Evesham Vale Growers in Blackminster is deemed to be ‘under control’. On Friday, public health officials have reported that has had no new positive Covid-19 cases for 14 days at the Worcestershire farm.
The outbreak began a month ago when two workers at the site in Birmingham Road to the east of Evesham tested positive on Monday, July 20. The outbreak is believed to have started when vegetable pickers from a Sandwell farm which had also had an outbreak travelled to the Worcestershire farm in a minibus.
Birminghammail.co.uk reports that cases then escalated, with a total of 30 people found to be positive. Now food production is almost back to normal. Workers are undergoing swab tests to check and recheck.
