Bulgaria's Agriculture Fund has started accepting applications for aid to support farmers affected by COVID-19. Of the 106 million BGN (54.24 million Euro) approved by Brussels, 99 million BGN (50.65 million Euro) are already being granted, as reported by Desislava Taneva's office.
The maximum amount of aid per farm has been set at 13,500 BGN (about 6,903 Euro), with the exception of beekeepers, who will receive a maximum of 3,000 BGN (about 1,534 Euro). The remaining 7 million BGN (about 3.58 million Euro) will go to processing companies and the applications for them will start at a later date.
Farmers will have access to support through two schemes. The deadline to apply has been set for September 21, 2020 and the municipal agricultural services will be in charge of handling all applications.
