Hamburg-based company Fresh Factory now also offers fresh pomegranate seeds from its range. What's so special? After delivery, the whole pomegranates are processed 100 percent in the modern production facility by machine, and in Germany. This means the company can guarantee an exceptionally high quality and freshness of the kernels. Two pack sizes are available: the 100-gramme portion, as a small snack for in-between meals (with a fork if required) or as a topping for the kitchen, and the one-kilogram bag in a carton as the perfect packaging size for further processing for bulk consumers.
Especially hygienic due to machine peeling
During processing, the pomegranates are peeled mechanically, which makes the process particularly hygienic. Skins and kernels are separated from each other, the valuable kernels are immediately packed and cooled. The remains of the peel are used in the company's own biogas plant, being used to generate electricity. Thus, all essential processing steps are in the company's own hands, the supply chain is controlled and the environment will benefit.
Rising consumption of pomegranates
The pomegranate is one of the healthiest fruits of all and is a real vitamin bomb. Its seeds taste delicious and are an absolute superfood with many positive characteristics. 
The kernels contain many healthy ingredients such as minerals, vitamins (especially B and E), antioxidants and polyphenols. In addition to the antioxidant effect and the associated cell rejuvenation, they are said to strengthen the immune system, help against inflammation, have a positive effect on cardiovascular diseases and protect the vessels. The pomegranate seeds are the ideal breakfast companion in fruit salads or muesli, as a salad topping, to refine dishes and sauces or simply pure as a snack in between.
Especially in the last two years, the trend towards increasing consumption of pomegranates has become apparent. The Fresh Factory is now responding to this trend by investing in a modern processing plant and a corresponding increase in capacity.
