Trops will open new headquarters in the province of Granada

The largest avocado and mango marketer in Spain, Trops, will open its second headquarters in the province of Granada, in the town of Motril. This will allow Trops to bring its services closer to its partners in the area (almost half a thousand) and give it great growth potential, facilitating the local reception of the fruit.

According to Trops managing director Enrique Colilles, the company has great potential for growth in the province of Granada, as there is great interest on the part of agricultural producers in the tropical sector to become part of the company as partners. "Trops' intention is to have the headquarters already in operation for the next mango campaign," he said.

Moreover, these are not the only headquarters that Trops plans to open in the short term. The first transnational producer organization in Andalusia is also going to start up a facility in the city of Tavira, in the Portuguese Algarve, where it has built a warehouse to serve its Portuguese partners. More than a year ago, the company acquired a 4,000 square meter plot in this municipality where it will be possible to build 8,000 square meters of facilities in order to cover all the avocado production in the Algarve, and it owns another 2,000 square meters that will allow the Portuguese headquarters to continue expanding in the future if necessary.

The initial idea was to have it operational early in the year, but the pandemic and the lockdown forced the company to postpone its inauguration.

With these new facilities, Trops will already have offices in Vélez, Coín, Jete, Motril and Tavira. The company is also carrying out a significant investment in its El Trapiche complex, where it has 14,000 square meters for further expansion.
