José Navarro, of Agrícola Navarro de Haro, has been appointed new president of Grupo AGF Fashion, replacing José García. The decision was announced during the Group's General Assembly, held on Friday June 26.
"It is an honor to become president of this group and to be able to continue making a contribution in this new stage," said Navarro after his presentation, thanking José García for his work at the head of the group for so many years. In his farewell, García said that "we are all aware of your ability to chair this company. Good luck, you have my support."
The project of the Grupo Fashion Association, today Grupo AGF, was launched in 2002 and became definitively established in 2006. The aim was to be able to supply top quality watermelons adjusted to the needs of clients and consumers, making watermelon consumption more desirable.
The group is made up of 16 fruit and vegetable companies that are mostly based in the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Fashion watermelons are grown both in greenhouses and in the open ground, which guarantees an extensive production and supply schedule, from April to October.
