The harvesting of red garlic from Sulmona is over at D'Alessandro and now orders are being collected. The produce is of excellent quality not only thanks to the weather conditions, but also thanks to the professionalism and experience of the D'Alessandro family which, this year, destined almost 55 hectares to garlic crops.
"It rained very little and at the right moments, thus favoring quality. Garlic is extremely healthy and, now that harvesting is over, we are drying it," explains Vittorio D'Alessandro.
Thanks to the natural drying conditions, the product reaches the right degree of humidity for commercialization and it will become available as of July 10th 2020. This year, D'Alessandro's garlic is particularly aromatic with a more striking red color. "These characteristics are due to the phenotype and environment in which the garlic is grown in the Peligna valley but, this year, the weather has meant they are even more striking."
It is the ideal moment to order the product. Clients who get in touch with D'Alessandro are mainly buyers from big distribution chains, wholesalers and operators supplying retailers. Red garlic from Sulmona is a unique product appreciated for the characteristics that make it stand out.
