The Peruvian tangelo campaign begins with an increase in exports

Peruvian tangelo exports between the start of the export campaign, in May, until the first fortnight of June increased by 28% over the same period of 2019, totaling 785 tons.

Even though it's still too early to draw conclusions, the global increase in demand for citrus fruits is expected to favor exports of Peruvian tangelo.

The Netherlands continues to be the main destination market. After being the only destination in 2019, this year it concentrated 81% of total shipments. It was followed by the United States and the United Kingdom, which accumulate 6% each.

In 2019, the Agricola Yolanda Patricia SAC and Sterling Peru SAC exporting companies were the only businesses that made shipments, with a participation of 62% and 38%, respectively. This year, these companies continue to be the most representative, with 50% and 44% participation, followed by Andes Premium Fruits SAC, with 6%.
