Georgian company Glenberry, which was created with the support of the state, has exported 20 tons of Georgian strawberries and blueberries to the USA this year.
“Glenberry is one of the businesses based on which we can forecast the perspectives of development in agriculture in Georgia and how the Georgian government’s decisions affect farmers,” said Deputy Agriculture Minister Giorgi Khinashvili, who also noted that the company has been exporting its produce from Georgia to international markets since last year.
Glenberry is located in the village of Kvenatkotsa, Kareli Municipality, and was established within the state-run United Agro Project. In total, 5 million GEL has been invested in the business out of which 600,000 GEL (€174,000) is a grant, and the rest was invested by the beneficiary. The company was established in 2018, and it employs 150 locals.
