The Alzira-based cooperative Alzicoop and the citrus company Juan Motilla, SL have reached an agreement that will allow the latter to use Alzicoop's facilities to continue receiving, storing, pre-calibrating and handling citrus fruits. The contract is valid for 10 years and is renewable.
The President of Alzicoop, Francisco Clari, and the representative of the leasing company, Juan Carlos Motilla, have expressed their "firm commitment to collaboration and understanding in order to facilitate both social and structural relations" between the two institutions, given that Alzicoop's headquarters will host two separate businesses. On the one hand, the storage and packaging of kakis in a warehouse and an annex building, which is still under construction, and, on the other, Motilla's own citrus plant.
The agreement has been announced just a few days after Alzicoop and the Virgen del Oreto de l'Alcúdia (Canso) cooperative closed a mutual collaboration pact that will allow the citrus production from Alcalá to be brought to the Alcudian warehouses of Canso in the next campaign, while a part of the kakis harvested by the Alcudian entity will be handled at the Alzicoop facilities.
