Chinese companies are paying increasingly careful attention to automated selection machines for the fruit industry because the labor cost continues to rise every year. Zhengzhou First Industry is a company specialized in the manufacturing of automated selection equipment. Manager Wang, a spokesperson for Zhengzhou First Industry, recently introduced the company's top-selling blueberry selection machine.
"The principle behind a size-selection machine is quite simple, and an additional ventilator helps to pre-cool and dry the fruit. The machine only requires a worker to remove the second-grade and miscellaneous quality blueberries from the conveyor belt. A series of cylinders helps to separate the blueberries based on various sizes, and each cylinder deposits the blueberries in the appropriate basket. Each machine is individually calibrated to guarantee the highest accuracy. In the end, this machine greatly reduces financial loss due to damaged fruit," explained manager Wang.
"We can manufacture the cylinders with the mesh-sizes that our customers require. The most common sizes are diameters #12, #14, #16, and #18. The selection speed of our standard machines is around 500 kg per hour," said manager Wang. "With a little adjustment, our machine can also be used for the selection of cherries and similar fruits."
"The medium-sized selection machines are quite common in the international market. However, this selection machine is suitable for small-sized fruits such as blueberries. The competition in this market is much weaker," said manager Wang. "Our main selling point is the excellent quality-price ratio. The machine is multi-functional and easy to operate. The machine only occupies a small surface area (4m*1.6m*1m). That means our machine is quite suitable for small- and medium-sized companies without too much room to spare."
"At first, we mainly sold our equipment in China, but as our products become more well-known in overseas markets, we have begun to export our machines too. Our machines are currently installed in South Africa, the UK, Portugal, Turkey, and Israel. We are CE certified," explained manager Wang. "And we are currently looking for intermediaries in South America to further expand our market. We hope to gain a foothold in the South American market and help an even greater number of clients with out fruit selection machines."
