Revenue officers have seized cannabis worth €5.5 million at Rosslare Europort. Officers discovered the drugs this morning following a routine profiling operation at the port. Staff made the find when a container that arrived from Spain was chosen for a random check.
Officers on duty identified an unaccompanied trailer that had arrived from Bilbao and selected it for examination. They deployed a mobile X-Ray scanner to check the contents. Following the inspection, 277 kilos of herbal cannabis was found hidden inside a load of melons and oranges.
