Red Cherry on-the-Vine

Excitement around virtual tomato taste testing

Not being able to see each other in person has resulted in exhibitors of United Fresh’ virtual trade show taking the opportunity to present themselves online. Many opted to show videos, telling their companies’ stories and attendees have shown great interest for them. Some companies took it one step further and organized live events to engage attendees and make this virtual event more interactive.

Piece of art
One of these companies is Nature Fresh Farms, who organized a virtual tomato tasting yesterday. Moderated by Sarah Krzysik, Public Relations Coordinator of the company, ten panelists discussed their thoughts on Nature Fresh Farms’ Red Cherry on-the-Vine tomatoes. Krzysik started out by asking the panel if they have ever purchased these tomatoes and what enticed them to buy this product? Most panelists said they are attracted to the bright red color, the smell of freshness and the coordinated order they come in. “They are beautiful and look like a piece of art,” one panelist said. Regarding quality, panelists all agreed that firmness and sweetness are must-haves.

Each panelist had a box of Red Cherries on-the-Vine sent to their homes and as they started snacking during the live event, they provided comments on the flavor and texture. Words used to describe the tomatoes included sweet, low acid, addictive, and all-round great tasting.

“We were very fortunate to have such a wonderful and diverse group of panelists that were able to discuss the product in great detail and provide some insightful feedback,” Krzysik said. “They created a very engaging conversation around everything from the products flavor to quality to its packaging. We loved how these foodies even shared some great recipe and eating ideas.”

More online events
Nature Fresh Farms was happy with the turnout for the sampling. “We saw a lot of industry partners joining in and asking some great questions to our panelists. Being our first virtual taste testing we weren’t sure what to expect but are very happy with the overall engagement. Having such a positive response towards the virtual tasting, we can see a possibility for more events such as this one, with consumers and industry partners interacting over quality produce,” Krzysik shared.
