"Sweet corn enters peak production season in China"

Sweet corn has gradually entered its peak production and sales season. Fresh corn under the brand of Mykio are produced in Qionghai, Hainan, and Huangshan, Anhui. Each year, there are two seasons, respectively from January to April and May to July. Mr. Wu Bin of Hainan Wushen Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. analyzed the current market.

"Compared with the first season from January to April, the second season is larger in production and faster in sales, but the market price is also showing a decreasing trend. There are a few reasons for this. One the one hand, there are various varieties of locally grown corn available on the market and consumers have more choices. On the other hand, the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the purchasing power of families. After all, the price of our sweet corn is higher than other corns. In this context, We have made corresponding adjustments to our pricing strategy for the second season to ensure smooth production and sales."

“Sweet corn is more demanding in the growing process than waxy corn grown in large fields. The first requirement is temperature - the best temperatures for the growth of our yellow and white fruit corn are 20-30 degrees. The second requirement is management. Fruit corn requires a lot more water and fertilizers than corn grown in large fields. In addition, compared with pure white or yellow fruit corn, the main advantage of our product is reflected in its super sweet and tender eating experience."

Sweet corn is a variety of very sweet corn suitable for eating raw like a fruit. It is a new crossbred variety produced through pollinating between different varieties, which is a form of natural reproduction rather than GMO. It enjoys high market popularity in Europe, America, South Korea, and Japan.
