During the corona crisis, it's a challenge for growers to sell not only a quality product, but also to be uncompromised with regards to food safety.
“Being fresh herbs exporters ourselves allows us to follow our vision to control our product development and marketing from the seed to the customer site. In the past few months we have successfully exported our produce in record times to our customers across Europe and North America, offering a fixable packaging and a focus on safety, we offer all our client’s a plastic bag,” Tzahi Mordehay from Genesis Herbs explains.
“Instead of selling the produce in a regular bunch, we realized we had to make changes to our packaging to ensure more confidence and safety by consumers. We touch the basil only once, from seed to bag. Our workers work with full protection and take their hygiene seriously. We’ve implemented all these measures without increasing the price. Our produce is marketed all year round to premium buyers in Europe and North America – who value our unique basil and have supported us almost since the beginning of this project.”
“The corona days have sped up our research and we came out with new herbs growing in our greenhouse like mint, parsley, dill, chives and lettuce. Encouraged by the positive feedback from the market, we have begun expanding our growing and production capacities via the implementation of new and enhanced technologies and growing methods.”
