As reported by the Prices and Markets Observatory of Andalusia, orange exports in the 2019/2020 campaign have increased by 10% in terms of volume and by 17% in terms of value compared to the previous campaign. From October 2019 to March 2020, oranges accounted for 77% of all citrus exports.
The monthly trend of exports to the European market has been similar to that of last season, with slightly higher values in the first two months and a significant increase in March.
Mandarin sales to foreign markets from October to March increased by 5% in terms of volume and by 38% in terms of value compared to the same period of the previous season. During the first 6 months of the citrus campaign, mandarins accounted for 14% of sales (in terms of volume).
Lemon exports have grown by 13% in terms of volume and by 15% in terms of value compared to the previous season. In the EC, they were similar to those of the previous season, with increases in the months of October, November and February, and especially in March.
As for grapefruit, exports from October to March increased by 12% in terms of volume and by 16% in terms of value compared to the previous season. The monthly trends have remained mostly the same, although there has been a considerable increase in exports to Europe during November and December.
