Peru's Verdeflor has processed 370 containers of Hass avocado so far this campaign

The Verdeflor company has processed a total of 370 containers of Hass avocado so far this season in its two packing plants located in Ica and Huaral, providing maquila service to national and foreign agro-exporters, allocating fruit to Europe, China, the United States, Korea, Russia, Chile, and Argentina.

In compliance with the security measures ordered by the Government due to the health emergency caused by COVID-19, Verdeflor added a new processing plant to its main operation in Huaral, located at km 319 of the Panamericana Sur highway, in Santiago, Ica. Both of their certified plants provide processing, packaging, and cold storage services to agro-export companies.

Verdeflor also expanded its cold storage capacity in both plants. The Huaral plant currently has a processing capacity of 20 tons/hour, and six refrigerated chambers that have a storage capacity of 400 tons. The plant in Ica has a processing capacity of 10 tons/hour and a cold storage capacity of 200 tons/day.

Verdeflor's Ica plant has currently processed 70 containers of Hass avocado destined for Europe and Chile, and plans to process another 80 containers by August. 9 of these containers were of organic avocado, said the plant manager Engineer Pedro Loza.

Verdeflor's Ica plant is currently serving the Alcoaxarquia company, an exporter of tropical fruits and organic citrus, based in southern Spain and Peru.

In turn, Ms. Norma Agurto, the head of the Huaral plant, said that they had processed 300 containers of conventional avocado destined for Europe, China, Korea, the United States, Chile, Argentina, and Russia.

The Verdeflor plants also process blueberries, ginger, and bananas.

The company has just renewed all its certifications (SMETA, GRASP, GLOBAL GAP, BRC, SENASA, HACCP). It also has COVID-19 MINSA certifications.
