“To date, agricultural producers in the region have planted potatoes on an area of 11,200 hectares, which is more than 80% of the planned [amount]. In total, over 14,000 hectares will be occupied with potatoes this year in the Moscow Region,” said Andrei Razin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
According to the minister, this year potato planting in the Moscow region began earlier than planned. And there are already urban districts where the work is completed.
“We were the first to plant potatoes in the Dmitrov city district, in particular, at the Dmitrov Vegetables agricultural holding. They were the first to complete its landing. The entire planned volume of potatoes is planted here - 1,200 hectares. In total, 4,200 hectares of potatoes have been planted in this district today, which is about 78% of the plan.”
This year, in the Dmitrov city district, they plan to allocate 5,400 hectares for potatoes, which is 161 hectares more than last year.
