The Dutch company, MCR Machinery, has been building pumpkin washers for several years. These are used to wash and dry not only pumpkins. They can also be used for Turban squash and ornamental fruit. There is an increasing demand for smaller, simpler washers.
The company, therefore, decided to manufacture just such as machine. The machine is manually filled with pumpkins. A water buffer bath is created which collects the pumpkins in the water. As soon as the buffer is full, the pumpkins are removed by hand. These can then be further processed.
MCR Machinery does not only build these smaller machines. They also manufacture larger lines with dunking baths and sponge or cloth dryers. At the end of 2019, they introduced a new washer.
It washes pumpkins as well as sweet potatoes. This machine's modular structure means it can easily be expanded. The machine can also, just as easily, be converted to a sponge or cloth dryer.
