In less than three weeks, the produce industry will experience its first virtual trade show ever, organized by the United Fresh Produce Association. “With our membership going back three decades, we’ve been a long-time supporter of the association,” says Marsha Verwiebe with Volm Companies. “We know that involvement in events such as the annual trade show is essential for the organization and therefore, we have decided to show our support with a virtual booth. For us, the trade show always is a good opportunity to network with customers and other industry service providers like ourselves. Whether it is in-person or virtually, we believe this type of exposure is an opportunity we should take advantage of.”
“Although we have no idea what to expect, we are just happy to be involved in any way we can and learn from the experience,” Verwiebe shared. The company will begin promoting its involvement on its social media platforms, in ads and email campaigns. “To help us build the best booth experience possible for our visitors, we rely heavily on information and helpful tips passed on from the United Fresh team.”
Volm's newest packaging products are CLAF® Bio Fabric™ and Bag-2-Paper.
Plans regarding the design of the booth and products to showcase are shaping up. “We have so many new and exciting packaging products and equipment solutions that we’ll split feature time between our most popular and newest products,” Verwiebe said. One of the newest products for Volm is CLAF® Bio Fabric™. “It was recently introduced into our family of mesh options.” The packaging contains 96 percent USDA Certified Biobased content, increasing use of renewable resources while decreasing use of non-renewable resources like petroleum.
On the equipment side, the company has many ideas for products it can feature. Numerous new Volmpack and Volmstack products, as well as some of the most popular recent additions like the Volmpack Pouch Bagger, Rollstock Pouch Bagger and the Bag-2-Paper vertical packaging machine are some of the options. By the time the show starts, the new Volmpack Case Packer will have entered the market. This machine automates the secondary packing process for packages that are transported in stacked trays, crates or RPC’s. “Volmpack Case Packers are very compact, making it easy to integrate them into existing packing lines.”
The Case Packer will soon enter the market.
Naturally, Volm hopes to generate some sales leads during the weeklong event. “In addition, we are looking forward to gaining the experience of a virtual event. With this being the first of its kind for United fresh, we are also hoping the association sees the support they need from their member base.”
