Solutions to disinfect fruits, vegetables, and fruit and vegetable collection centers

The agricultural food industry is using more and more disinfectants. All tiers of the agricultural environment (producers, plants, distribution, transport) are responsible for having a successful food security program in which AgroFresh is a fundamental post-harvest company.

AgroFresh continues to offer solutions to their clients and would like to remind all parties that the proper management of hygiene and disinfection practices positively affects the final result.

Fruit sanitation. Disinfection of surfaces, containers, and environments
The Textar® COAD line is used to sanitize treatment waters in contact with the fruit and, by removing the inoculums, maximize the effectiveness of the fungicide treatment. They break down cell membranes, altering their metabolism without generating resistance. They also have a broad spectrum of action against microorganisms and organic matter, they leave no residue and are compatible with our biodegradable detergents.

Textar® BIOC 25 5 optimizes the disinfecting activity and provides greater stability. It is authorized for the total sanitization and disinfection of surfaces, containers, and tools in the fruit and vegetable industry.

Peracetic acid is an effective disinfectant and has been tested for a complete viricide activity. These solutions are 100% biodegradable and certified for organic production in the European Union.

Other disinfection solutions  
The company's wide catalog includes liquid or aerosol glutaraldehyde to disinfect chambers, plants, trucks, or containers.

Technologies to disinfect and optimize water
Control-Tec® Dos PCD-PCaDs are spray application systems for disinfectants in warehouses and chambers. AgroFresh also offers disinfection services through thermal fog applications.

Control-Tec® Dos PLD and PLB are in-line fruit disinfection and washing systems that proportionally dose detergent and adjuvant depending on the amount of water being sprayed. The washing process has low water consumption and guarantees food safety: the dose and residues are controlled.

Control-Tec® ECO L2 is a highly sustainable system for washing, disinfecting, and rinsing fruit, as it consumes 90% less water than conventional systems. It is authorized by the CAAE for post-harvest cleaning of certified organic fruits.

Ultraviolet technology (Control-Tec® Cam PURE AIR).
The technology achieves sterilization by reducing the levels of microorganisms, fungi, and bacteria, preserving the fruits from rotting.

In addition, it incorporates a disinfection system that increases the safety of personnel, reducing their risk of contact with harmful bacteria or microorganisms. It is CAAE certified for use in places where certified organic fruits and vegetables are stored or transported.
