Rene Noordam and Eric Manneke, who have both been active in the fruit and vegetable sector for many years, have taken up the challenge of making fresh fruit and vegetables products from all over the world available on the new Optifruit trading platform. On April 10, the starting signal for this new platform was given on this site.
And the responses were overwhelming, says René. "In the eight days after the publication on AGF.nl, we received 102 registrations from both buyers and sellers. These registrations are continuing at a fairly similar rate at the moment. Most of the sellers who register are top fruit growers from the Netherlands and Poland and exotic producers and exporters from South America."
"The buyers are mainly from Poland, Spain, Germany, and Canada. Most buyers choose to receive all offers. The first transactions have since been completed through OptiFruit, such as a few batches of Dutch top fruit, a car of lemons and pineapple, so that is positive," continues Rene.
"We will continue to develop Optifruit in the coming months. Since we went online, we have already resolved a lot of teething problems and are currently making adjustments to make it even more transparent for the buyer and seller," concludes Rene.
