A significant increase of fruit and vegetable prices in Russia's Primorsky Territory in April has been reported by Primorskstat.
Lemons recorded the most significant increase, as they became 2.8 times more expensive. The rest of the podium was taken by cucumbers and tomatoes, whose prices increased by 15–20%.
Rosstat says that the main reason for the increase in lemon prices has been the excessive demand against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.
For their part, the significant increase in the price of cucumbers and tomatoes is due to the difficulties that trucks encounter at the border crossings in Primorye due to the strengthening of measures to counter the spread of the coronavirus implemented by the Chinese side.
