Thousands of seasonal workers have been unable to work in the fields due to mobility limitations caused by the COVID19 crisis and the state of emergency imposed by authorities. As a result, harvesting the crops in this campaign will cost more; a cost that will fall directly on producers.
Suterra, which is aware of these difficulties and the already complicated situation of the fruit markets, wants to support its clients and help reduce the labor costs that this health and social crisis are creating.
To do this, Suterra has created the ‘special COVID19 bonus’ which will defray part of the Magnet MED placement costs in relation to the volume of hectares that the producer covers with this biocontrol system.
“Since it's so easy to set up, Magnet MED is already the biocontrol system that requires less labor. Despite this, and given the difficulty of finding qualified labor, we have redoubled our efforts by offering this special COVID19 bonus,” stated Carolina Maset, EMEA Marketing Manager at Suterra.
“Protecting citrus, apricot, persimmon, grape, peach, and apple crops from the Mediterranean fruit fly is easier and more comfortable to do thanks to the design of this biocontrol system, which contains the best attractant on the market and controls the fly sustainably and with zero residues. This special bonus will also make it less expensive during the 2020 campaign,” she added.
“We at Suterra have always been aware that the future of agriculture depends on innovation, that's why we are world leaders in sustainable pest control and pioneers in R + D + I in more than 30 countries. We create healthier environments by minimizing the use of conventional insecticides and we want to be the benchmark ally in sustainable agriculture. Being allies means redoubling efforts when you need our input and that is why we have decided to offer this special Covid-19 bonus in the 2020 campaign. Our commitment continues to be facilitating work in the field,” Suterra's Marketing Manager concluded.
