Frank Coppens new CEO Plant Sciences Europe BV

To lead its deliberate plans for expansion, Plant Sciences Europe BV has appointed Mr. Frank Coppens as its new CEO. He will start June 1st . PSE will be well positioned for meaningful growth under the leadership of Mr. Coppens who brings extensive market experience and relevant leadership expertise.

After nearly two decades operating from its home office in California, Plant Sciences, Inc. (PSI) established its wholly-owned subsidiary, Plant Sciences Europe BV (PSE), in the Netherlands in 2016. This was with the goal to expand its offering of elite berry varieties to its customers and partners throughout Europe and the UK with local expertise. PSI and its affiliate companies maintain key, strategic relationships with leading professional plant nurseries and exclusive fruit growing partners throughout the UK and Europe. These relationships are all managed by the PSE team primarily based in the Netherlands and in Spain.

Now quickly approaching its fourth year operating from its new base within Europe, Plant Sciences has expansion plans for the whole of Europe and the UK. These plans focus on development and market expansion of elite varieties originating from the breeding programs of Plant Sciences and its affiliate companies, including Berry Genetics, Inc, Strawberry Sciences, LLC and Fragaria Plant Sciences BV. The plans also include beginning to roll out its first primocane blackberry varieties and blueberry varieties.

Mr. Coppens will work closely with and lean heavily on the expertise of the existing leadership team at PSE. This includes Commercial Director, Mr. Daniel de Vogel who joined Plant Sciences in 2011 and formally led the establishment of PSE in 2016. Mr. David Johnston, first hired in 2009 by Plant Sciences, will also work alongside Mr.
Coppens in his role as Technical Director at PSE.

Frank has 30 plus years of experience in international business management, development and leadership, having worked in many key leadership roles. Two notable positions that will lend themselves well to Frank’s new position at PSE include time at Daimler Benz in
the Netherlands, the Nordics and Germany and at Van den Elzen Plants in the Netherlands.
