Volume coming on of specialty cherry tomatoes

Supplies of specialty cherry tomatoes are coming on strong.

John Newell of Windset Farms based in Delta, B.C. says that the growing area of its Cameo® cherry tomatoes has definitely increased compared to last year. “Production is coming on very strong for the next few months and we’re extremely excited to showcase this item at the upcoming United Fresh LIVE! virtual show in June,” says Newell, who notes that Windset grows the Cameo® Cherry tomatoes in three growing regions: Santa Maria, CA; Delta, British Columbia and Mexico. This allows the company to provide the Cameo® Cherry tomatoes, which are available in dry pint, 12oz, and 1.5 lb. packages, year-round.

New format for exhibiting
Meanwhile while Windset Farms is still fine-tuning its changes for this year’s switch to exhibiting in a virtual trade show at United Fresh LIVE!, taking place June 15-19, what hasn’t changed for Windset is why it participates in the show in the first place. “It’s a great place to meet with our existing and new customers and industry friends,” says Newell. “United Fresh also has informative seminars we always look forward to. And we hope to welcome visitors as if we were meeting in person.”

Windset will also be launching new products and will be available to answer questions from visitors.
