'Take care of each other, we'll take care of your fruit & veg'

"It's clear for everyone, the coronavirus has an impact on our daily life, in the Netherlands and around the world. We're dealing with extreme measures that hit everyone, both consumers and the fresh produce industry. And it's not ending anytime soon. Together, we must get through this."

Care for fruit and veg
"This is the time to take care of ourselves and each other Eating healthy, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, every day, is a part of that."

"With the campaign 'Take care of each other, we'll take care of your fruit & veg' GroentenFruit Huis means to highlight the effort of the employees that work in the sector. From growers and pickers, to packers and traders. Drivers, stock clerks and the fruit and vegetable specialists. We're all here to help consumers get their fruit and vegetables, at this important time."

The campaign launched at the end of March and has reached millions of Dutch consumers via social media, newspapers, radio and television commercials and outdoor marketing. The campaign is expected to run until the end of May.

Weekly menu
To help the consumers make the healthy choice, a weekly menu is being developed. The idea of this menu is to assist families with young children in maintaining a high variety in their food intake, now that the entire family is at home seven days a week. At the same time fewer trips to the supermarkets are required, as shopping can be done for multiple days ahead of time. This is actually quite challenging when it comes to fruit and vegetables, if you're not used to having the produce on the shelf for multiple days after purchasing it. For these consumers, the weekly menu is a solution to the problems mentioned. A precise shopping list will also aim to reduce any food wastage. Dutch bloggers will help to get the weekly menus more exposure.
