"On fertile soils exposed to mild and constant winds, just 4 km from the sea, we grow table grapes of excellent quality. The unusually warm climate of this year, albeit with some exceptions, anticipated the fruit setting of our vines, which are now in an excellent phenological stage". So said the Giudice cousins, owners of the Verde Mediterraneo farm in Vittoria (RG) in Sicily.

"The unique soil and climatic conditions of our fields help us a lot in limiting fungal plant diseases. The varieties cultivated here can be considered firstlings: Black Magic and Victoria - with 11 thousand stumps, for a total of 6 hectares - are grown in greenhouse, in order to obtain an early harvest in May".
"This year we expect to enter the market a week in advance - say the farmers - given that we will not suffer from the drop in production that occurred last year, due to bad weather. The overall quality is also expected to be excellent, and we have all the reasons to expect the production of a grape with a brix (sugar content) that will probably hover around 16 degrees, with regular and good-sized berries (see photo below). This year, provided that we have favorable climatic conditions, we will reach 40 tons per hectare".
The varieties grown here are Victoria and Black Magic
"Our product will be ready for harvest at the end of May and will be distributed in the main wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, both in Italy and abroad. We want to say that our company respects all the parameters on residues and pre-harvest safety intervals, so that the final consumer can find fine grapes that meet the best production standards".

"We are a relatively small company - conclude the two farmers - but we really want to stake on it and grow. We market directly with the wholesale markets of northern Italy and France, where we are renown for our production capacity, according to the demand. We are open to any kind of request regarding processing and packaging. In our own small way, we can work according to a program and guarantee reliability in terms of time and production quality".
