Employees in fruit and vegetable companies are working hard to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to consumers across the globe during the difficult conditions of this COVID-19 pandemic. The supply of fresh fruit and vegetables helps consumers strengthen their health. The machines that help to maintain efficiency in the fresh produce industry are a key element in smooth operations during this pandemic.
Reemoon is a company specialized in the equipment that sorts fruit and vegetables on the production line and maintains quality standards. The company team shared their experience with operations and the solutions for problems they encountered in recent weeks:
"We closely followed Chinese government instructions during the outbreak of COVID-19. We resumed operations after the extended holiday period. We worked as hard as possible to help the Chinese industry recover. At the same time, we also continued our operations abroad. Although we could not avoid some delay during this difficult period, we did our best to deliver excellent equipment and made sure the machines were in good working condition. We completely returned to business as usual in early March and we are taking appropriate measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"Consumers are gradually returning to the Chinese fruit market and this in turn has a stimulating effect on the global economy. We at Reemoon are contributing our hard work and expertise to our segment of the supply chain." This is according to Dennis Clock from Reemoon.
Reemoon dispatched masks and other medical equipment to overseas clients in South Africa, Egypt, South Korea, countries that are currently in the middle of their own COVID-19 epidemic.
"China has already brought the spread of COVID-19 under control and we are busy planning our projects for this year. However, overseas markets are currently closing their borders to limit the spread of COVID-19. We have no way to export our equipment and ensure proper installation at the moment. This has a significant impact on our business. The pandemic gradually spread overseas and our business partners are now struggling with COVID-19 in their own countries, but in the end the impact is limited. Our business partners in Thailand, India, Chile, Egypt, and South Africa still continue operations. They are servicing, selling, and installing our new machines."
"Even in the middle of this difficult period we still manage to accomplish achievements that make us proud. The first shipment of avocados from the Philippines was successfully shipped to China. The Dole factory in the Philippines where the avocados were processed used our selection equipment. These machines help to wash, dry, select, and package the avocados before they are sold. Our machines provide flexible and efficient solutions for the selection of fruit and vegetables. This is only one of the possible uses of our machinery. For example, our machines can select and discard fruit based on surface flaws or monitor the internal conditions of oranges, apples, and pears (such as sugar content, sourness, bacterial growth, and decay)."
