Solidarity and resourcefulness against the coronavirus

Greenhouse plastics are used as hospital gowns

Many sectors donated some of their resources to help the health professionals of the province of Cadiz, who lacked personal protective equipment against the coronavirus as the first wave of patients started to arrive in massive numbers at the hospitals.

Some of the donated materials are so curious that they stand out, such as the 250 plastic gowns that have been used at the Puerta del Mar Hospital and that were offered by two cut flower companies on the Northwest Coast of Cadiz, and were made with the plastics used in greenhouses.

The cut flower sector is one of the most affected by the coronavirus crisis. They've had to ditch 70 percent of their production at the best time of year for their sales, which were destined for processions, parties, and spring celebrations.
