With the Coronavirus emergency, demand has boomed on the www.fruttaweb.com website created by Almaverde for the online sale of Italian organic fruit.
"We went from 600 to 800 and even 1000 orders a week and demand is increasing. We can guarantee deliveries in 3-4 days, which is good considering the considerably higher demand," explains Canova director Ernesto Fornari.
In order to complete supplies without delays and in line with demand, the service currently covers all of Italy except for Sardinia, Sicily, Molise, Calabria and Basilicata. "Deliveries in the rest of Italy continue without a problem and respecting the cold chain thanks to refrigerated trucks."
Fornari stresses that orders go from 6 to 20 kg each, with an average of around 12 kg. "You can pick what you prefer or select one of our boxes. The Vitamin C box with kiwifruit, oranges and lemons is the most popular."
