Measure due to coronavirus crisis

Dubai lowers import duties by 20% for the next 3 months

Dubai is to reduce its import customs duties by 20%. This is valid for the next three months. The ruling applies to all imported goods sold on the United Arab Emirates' local market. This cutback brings food products' tariffs down from five to four percent.

This decision forms part of a stimulus package. The Dubai government has developed this to help commercial companies. These businesses need to weather Covid-19's impact. The measure is also meant to maintain the flow of imports.
