Border patrols and closures impact cargo flows

Interactive map of border crossing times for trucks in Europe

The coronavirus has reached Europe and is causing security measures all over the continent in order to contain the spread as much as possible. Many borders have been closed and while goods can still be transported, additional measures slow down the process and cause major delays.

"Over the last few weeks, European nations have been working hard to contain the spread of the pandemic. Governments have applied restrictions not only on public gatherings and individual travel but, by setting up border patrols or even closures, have indirectly impacted cargo flows", the sixfold website says.

The timely transport of perishables is crucial to keep the supply chain running and ensure food security.

Sixfold offers an interactive map where logistics providers can find updates about crossing times for trucks all over Europe in real time.
