Brima Fruit was founded in 2011. Since then, this Dutch produce wholesale company has slowly been expanding. It has air-conditioned warehouses in Babberich, the Netherlands. A Cash & Carry has been successfully running there for several years now. That is in addition to distribution to German supermarkets and wholesalers. "In the past two years, Brima Fruit has more than doubled its Cash & Carry turnover," says Jeroen van den Brink.
Brima Fruit supplies a complete assortment of fruit and vegetables to supermarkets throughout Germany. The step to opening a Cash & Carry was, therefore, not a difficult one.
"There is everything one might find in a store or supermarket's fruit and vegetable section. Here, in Babberich, these are freshly available daily. Our trucks load different products from farmers, auctions, and importers. They do so every day in the Netherlands and Belgium."
Imports from various European countries has also increased considerably in recent years. This is done to guarantee Brima Fruit can offer their goods at a consistent quality. Several times a week, vehicles are, therefore, also loaded with citrus, fresh herbs, and different kinds of vegetables. Different product brands can, thus, always be found in this company's range.
"A diverse range of customers come to our Cash & Carry. Think of local and international supermarkets, market vendors, and clients from the hospitality industry. Victor Kleve, or one of the other members of the sales team, helps these customers every day. The Cash & Carry is open from 07:00 to 15:00," explains Jeroen.
"People who visit Brima Fruit can see the products and prepare the trade themselves. They, of course, get the best prices and advice. Some of our clients place telephonic orders. These people can have their order delivered. Our delivery truck drives through the region every day," concludes Jeroen.
