In the Republic of Belarus, the fruit and berry harvest in 2019 amounted to 157.3 thousand tons, as reported by the press service of the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
“In Belarus, work is underway to increase the production of fruit and berry products, improve their quality and expand the range. In 2019, 157.3 thousand tons of fruits and berries were produced (2.4 times more than in 2010 and 4.2 times more than in 2005),” said the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus.
Horticulture is developing most effectively in the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions, where about 80% of the republic's fruit and berry products are grown.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, at least 500 hectares are planted annually in Belarus. Between 2016 and 2019, about 3.3 thousand hectares of orchards were planted by agricultural organizations and companies.
