Exsa Europe invests in new ripening cell

"Hard plums a thing of the past with new Ready-to-Eat concept"

"It is important that with the increasing demand for plums, the consumer can assume the fruit is ripe and tasty at the moment of purchase. That is when EXSA Europe comes in to launch their new concept: ready-to-eat plums." says Noud van den Broek.

"To realize this, the company developed a unique ripening cell that can controllably speed up the ripening process of the plums. The consumer gets its perfect ripe fruit because of EXSA Europe’s combination of the perfect taste, ripeness and contemporary presentation, just like it came fresh from the tree." van den Broek explains.

"Often, after purchase, plums are still too hard to eat. EXSA Europe is changing this with a unique ripening cell that makes sure its plums are ‘ready-to-eat’. This ripening cell was designed in collaboration with Goodacre, QC partner and Nijssens’s ripening specialists. Humidity and temperature can be adjusted to the desired settings to controllably speed up the ripening process, this optimizes the taste and makes sure the plums are ready to eat when they arrive chilled in the store." van den Broek concludes.
