Bio Turbo for produce industry is believed to be effective against coronavirus

According to the Thailand Medical News, airborne ozone has been proven to kill the SARS coronavirus including the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus as it is almost identical to that type. It is also reconfirmed in the study of the China Institute of Virology in Hubei, which has been conducting evaluations for the past couple of weeks [1].

Airborne ozone is generally unsafe for humans, but with the patented Bio Turbo, highly concentrated ozone never leaves the unit. Instead, the ozone passes over a catalyst that unlocks the ozone molecule as it exits the Bio Turbo.

Bio Turbo destroys Coronavirus in a way that is not harmful to humans, as ozone never leaves the unit.

“With ozone not leaving the Bio Turbo, the benefits of high concentrations of ozone can be achieved without exposing humans to the ozone. In this way, viruses are removed from the air. It’s important to understand that this only deals with airborne viruses and does not do anything for contact surfaces, only the air”, shared Matt Shawcross, Miatech’s Vice President of Business Development.

Common ozonating technologies are less effective as it’s challenging to get the right amount of ozone to kill the virus. Ozone is aggressive and exposure to ozone in high concentrations is very dangerous for humans, at the same time too little ozone might not accomplish much.

The Bio Turbo technology is manufactured in the United States by Miatech, based in Clackamas, Oregon. Miatech designed the Bio Turbo for the produce industry, primarily to eliminate ethylene and airborne bacteria in cold storage facilities.
