Jérémy Hachemi, HMI Logistics:

“Our warehouse in Strasbourg allows us to deliver products directly from the south to the north of France”

Large volumes of fruits and vegetables are transported daily from the south to the north of France. In order to reduce the delivery time, the Perpignan transport company HMI Logistics opened a logistics platform on the Strasbourg market. “We have a warehouse located no further than 60 km away from all the purchasing centers to which we deliver. This allows us to deliver Spanish and Provence products right away, without having to wait for the deliveries from the south,” explains Jérémy Hachemi, the company’s manager.

According to Jérémy, HMI Logistics is the only transporter of southern products that has a platform in Alsace. “All the other transport companies offer services from Rungis, Châteaurenard or elsewhere in the southwest.” HMI Logistics offers many services, such as warehousing, storing, cross-docking, quality control, approval, order preparation and finally, delivery. The company supplies purchasing centers in Alsace-Lorraine and near the German border. Besides southern products, it also transports regional products, like vegetables grown in Alsace.

HMI Logistics is part of the Mondial Fruits group, an import-export company for fruits and vegetables. According to Jérémy, being part of this group presents many advantages. “We are highly specialized transporters of fruits and vegetables. We know the product and we notice if some shipment is missing and if the quality or caliber is not satisfactory. We know what we’re doing.”

Jérémy hopes that HMI Logistics will expand its activity in the coming years. “We can still serve new customers. Our challenge within a year is to have eight trucks that will run around the clock to deliver all the purchasing centers of the Grand Est region. This will require a team of 13 drivers.” In total, HMI Logistics has the capacity to accommodate 10 trucks.
