"After considerable price increases for avocados, prices seems to be stabilising again"

Peruvian mango production is currently switching to the Casma production area. "We have had a period with a lot of supply and many small sizes," says Ive Lambert from Starfruit. “Especially at the start of the season, sizes 9/10/12 flooded the market. Due to moderate demand, prices were quite low. However, now that Casma is coming into production, we expect less volume, which will hopefully raise prices. Both for the exporter and for the importer, prices have been low over the past period, so it would be nice if prices were to rise in the coming weeks. "

"The avocados are currently more expensive than they were a few weeks ago. The price has increased significantly in recent weeks, but seems to be stabilising again at the moment.

This is because the season in Peru is starting slowly, and if we look at the avocado space there and the high prices in Europe, we can count on good quantities. I think the trend for avocados will decline in the coming weeks, partly due to the very low demand. After February, however, I expect demand to improve," Ive concluded.
