LCL takes a majority stake in B&L Fruit Logistics

Logistics service provider LCL from Barendrecht, The Netherlands is part of the Chilean Broom Logistics that has expanded its European activities by taking over the majority of the shares of B&L Fruit Logistics, according to Sharon Kucharek. LCL had been in office at B&L Fruit Logistics for several years and was responsible for a considerable volume of the current storage and transshipment.

Since 2015, LCL has been part of the Broom Group, one of the oldest shipping agencies and transport groups in the Chilean market with decades of experience in South American logistics. Currently 9 people work at B&L Fruit Logistics, known in the fruit and vegetable trade under the name of the former trading house Bakker & Leenheer.
The distribution center covers 2,500 pallet spots. Brian Bakker will remain as manager of B&L Fruit Logistics and will retain part of the shares.

"The activities of B&L Fruit Logistics were complementary to ours and therefore it was a great opportunity for us to achieve growth in Europe.
We will further intensify cooperation and efficiency," says Sharon.
"By realising this step in Europe, we can better serve the customers in the countries of origin. The activities will remain the same, but we will have more options to improve logistics efficiency."
