Bulgarian agricultural producers will receive around BGN 3 billion (about 1.5 billion Euro) in aid in 2020. The information campaign on direct payments is starting within a week, BNR reports. Meetings with producers will be held in many cities across the country to discuss the new conditions for direct payment schemes, the upcoming payments in the framework of the rural development program, as well as current state aid issues.
The almost BGN 3 billion are expected to fund direct payments for the area, market measures, the rural program and the maritime and fisheries program. Of these, 2.6 billion (1.33 billion Euro) will come from the EU, and BGN 266 million (about 135.9 million Euro) from the national budget. More than half of all funds will be paid under the Single Area Payment Scheme.
