Srotec LLC presents new binding method SR-Cyklop HD for field vegetables

"New binding machine enables smooth bundling in dirty environment"

Similar to last year, Bochum-based machine supplier Franz Sroka has managed to add a new process to its versatile machine catalogue in time for Fruit Logistica. This year Srotec LLC will again focus on the bundling of field-fresh vegetables. The new SR-Cyklop HD tying machine, which was especially designed for use in dirty environments, will be presented.

The special installation method has been developed for bundling carrots, turnips, beetroot and other field vegetables and enables an easy working process. The method is successfully used in the field, on harvesting vehicles and in the hall. The machine, which is partly made of stainless steel, is always equipped with a softbox, which ensures uniform elastic tension, increased operational safety and reduced elastic consumption.

Smooth bundling in a dirty environment
The process was developed from existing solutions and in close cooperation with Srotec's regular customers, adds the long-standing and internationally active machine supplier. "We have tried to find a new type of bundling system for fretted carrots. As always, ergonomics is one of the most important aspects of our machines. People sort the carrots either in the field or in the production hall, group them together, guide them through the bundling machine and then place them on a conveyor belt. With our method, one will save a lot of trouble and time in the end. The efficiency is simply much greater," Sroka explains.

The bundling system has been specially adapted to a dirtier environment and is basically suitable for all classic field vegetable crops (whether carrots, beetroot, turnips, etc.). "We know that many growers have the same problem during vegetable processing: This is because carrots are usually bundled from above and the dirt on the product and in the field has a correspondingly negative effect on mechanical processing. We have now optimised the process so that the produce can be bundled without any problems and in the same working mode".

Positive feedback
The novel solution has already been successfully tested on several production plants, confirms Mr. Sroka upon request. "The feedback so far is particularly good and positive and we hope to win existing as well as new customers for the new process at Fruit Logistica."
