AILIMPO forecasts a 22% reduction on this season's lemon crop

AILIMPO's 3rd lemon crop estimate for the 2019/2020 season updates the figures published in September and forecasts a total production of 1,020,000 tonnes, which represents a 22% reduction on the previous season's 18/19 total crop which reached the record figure of 1,300,000 tonnes.

It is expected that demand will be activated for Fino lemons from February onwards.

For the Verna variety, Spain is returning to production levels similar to those of 2017, with a total harvest forecast of 290,000 tonnes, which will allow it to consolidate its position as a leading supplier in Europe for conventional and organic fruit in the months of April, May and June, with quality, sustainable and excellent service lemons.
