Sormac, the specialist in vegetable processing machines, has been participating in the Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin for years. The demonstrations of machines, as well as the appealing lunch always attract a wide audience. And it promises to be busy again this year at stand D-11 in hall 3.1.
Sormac is exhibiting a number of new machines and some re-developed ones:
BSM-150 belt slicer:
This belt slicer can handle a wide variety of vegetables and is mainly used for cutting strips and slices. The newest generation BSM-150 handles these tasks much better:
- The downward pressure on the upper belt is set with the touchscreen. This setting can also be included in the cutting program for a specific product. Moreover, the set pressure is always the same regardless of whether it is a question of a large or a small cut.
- We all know the problems with cutting delicate leafy vegetables and certain herbs on a belt cutting machine, i.e. product damage and an uneven cut. But that is a thing of the past with the new Mono-knife. This in combination with the new slicer ensures flawless cutting of products such as lollo rosso/bionda, oak leaf lettuce, curly lettuce, kale, iceberg lettuce, romaine (cos) lettuce, chives and parsley.
GSM-1200 vegetable baton machine:
The GSM-1200 vegetable baton machine is the newest member of the VeggieLine range. The product is placed manually onto a v-shaped infeed plate. Closing the lid activates the slicing mechanism. The powerful pneumatic cylinder can cut hard products up to a diameter of 45 mm and a length of 80 mm. The cylinder presses the product completely through the knife unit, which is equipped with special blades to ensure perfect cutting results. The quick release system makes it very easy to change the knives.
Optionally, the GSM-1200 should be mounted on a special work table with a crate and a tray holder for raw and sliced product respectively. The capacity of this model is approximately 1,200 pieces/hour.
